I just keep reading the same thing, over and over and over again.
"This car isn't like all the other ones on this site, it isn't cool".
It has nothing to do with the fact that it isn't like all the other ones on the site. It's that it's technically undriveable with the way he's describing it and he's acting like because his car is so low, it's automagically cooler/better than other cars. Like EVO M3's aren't that big a deal because he's tucking more tire than them.

This is like a reverse build thread; it starts out nice and gets shitty.
I agree, its not because it doesn't look like 90% of the others on the board, but its the methods and ideology.
He hates bags solely because he thinks that you have to drive with it all the bags inflated and then park with the bags deflated. I can understand if he doesn't have enough money to do bags as well, thats fine we all have budgets. But driving around at that level and thinking its "cool" because its so low is pure half-ass, immature thinking.
Then the whole dragging exhaust thing (which I'm sure will lead to injuring a person following behind him when something falls off) that he thinks is soooo uber cool.
Its guys like this that are the reasons why insurance rates are so high when they do stupid stuff to their cars and wonder why they wreck or injure someone.
Enough of this rant, you came to this forum to show off your stuff and all I am is another opinion. I'm not your mother so take this as my $0.02. Its my own, and we all have one.
You don't have to drive high but gives you the option of making it over driveways, speedbumps, dips, etc without ripping off body parts or damaging exhausts. Also easier to get a floor jack under it to fix what you have ripped off already. :)
it's all about not going over speed bumps and certain drive ways. My car isn't low compared to his, but I still don't go over some speed bumps and drive ways/parking lots. when I do go over speed bumps, I scrape usually, it's great fun, you should try it!
also, I think this car works on 17's cause he's tucking rim. those wheels aren't really my bag to be honest, but I think they'd look better painted a solid color, something that's bold... not silver.
Your argument is completely irrelevant. The guy never said he was building a race car, so why should he care about touring car ride heights and win percentages?
I think you missed his point. Since this car can only be viewed aesthetically at this point, has giving his opinion of its aesthetics. The part about the E30 M3 race cars was simply to reiterate that the ridiculously low ride hight of the op's car cannot be argued as functional, only cosmetically which is purely opinionated.
I wish my e30 was as low as his  I was disappointed to find that even with my coils maxed out I still can't scrape on anything (aside from speed bumps, obviously).

Quoted for the most asinine thing I have read in quite some time.

Did you guys know that there is a form of modifying a car that does not include performance as a main goal? Or even practicality? Crazy, I know.

I reread his post, and you are correct. I completely missed the point. His point as you have paraphrased above is completely valid.
Even though I have no issues with modifying a car for purely cosmetic reasons, and like quite a bit many of the "non-functional" cars we have seen on this forum, I can't say that I like this one.
The dented rear valence detracts, but that is not a huge issue. The exhaust issue could be solved by welding up the cutout in the valence, then it wouldn't matter what exhaust is being run. Why spend big money on a part that will continually scrape.
My real issue, like that of many who have posted above, is with the wheels. Those BBS don't even look good to me in silver on cars set up for performance.
I would love to see this car on Dayton wires (not kidding) taking RS's back to their roots.
