    Nice seat John!

Plenty of room in that shop, good deal. The car looks awsome. I cant wait till the weather cools down, it should be an eventful season for all of us. The other night carlos, john and I were talking about how insane that thing sounded with open exhaust. Looking foward to seeing it in action!

Some serious progress right there man! Glad you're back in the E30 game.

What have you been up to before you started this up again?? Also, on that e46 rack again, did you use that whole column that it came with or was that modified at some point to fit the e30?

I fucking love engine builds...I really can't wait to build another one.

I was wondering where you went off to. Can't wait to see pictures of it on full opposite lock!

Ok, so I went for a drive today.

First of all, this has to be the hardest non-PS rack I've ever driven. I've driven some racks before, but my skinny ass will have to start working out to be able to steer this car properly. :p It seems that the e46 m3 rack is 3.2 turns lock to lock. But minor details.

The shitty deal is that my AFM is shot. Gotta get a new one by Saturday. Motor runs super strong and the idle is at a nice 175deg F (or 79deg C), driving around town is much of the same. I did a quick burnout for a few secs and the temp spiked to 190deg. Still not too worried.

The great news is that the local drifting sanctioning body just decided to open their doors this Saturday (they were half way through a summer break), so I will get to take the car out this weekend for a quick test and tune at the skidpad.

Right now its all minor things that need to be done. Bleed brakes, find new AFM, fix throttle pedal (spring fell out), etc.

Anyone in the SE area has an M30 AFM laying around? :p

3.2 LTL with the rack spacers you put on it. LTL says very little about actual steering quickness, if you had a total rack travel number it would be a bit more useful... (cough)

Glad to see this car coming together again, I still remember one of the earlier startup/revving videos, thing sounded brutal.

Yea, the throttle boot I grabbed for you that day had one. Theres a few of them down there. The car had a hood so chances are it hasnt been exposed too much. 441/tpk pull-it.

I know Carlos has two, but Im not sure if he's going to run both set-ups for the event. You should hit Otis up, he had a pretty healthy pile of M30 parts last time i was there.

^ Funny you say that, I just sent payment for a CNC exhaust flange for an M30. I wonder what can be made out of that :)

But before I mess with boost, I gotta deal with these cooling issues. I started a thread to seek help. Anyone that has any ideas is more than welcome to contribute, although I'm looking to find people who have an M30B34.5 setup and what cooling setup are they running on their cars:

Can you please remove the Kebab Traktor!! sticker?

E30 is not a kebab ride or a tractor... Volvo 240 is a tractor.

Absolutely. I don't know if you're down for events in south Florida or something more central FL, but there's some pretty awesome events going down here. I can offer a place to crash while you visit :)

I haven't posted updates yesterday because I was more on the overheating thread I started (link a few posts above). Sadly that's still an issue, but here's todays updates:

Wired in a few more things, such as the fan switch, radio (need my music) & lights for the gauges.

Went to Redline BMW to pick up a used M30 AFM and the coolant tube from the M30B34 that I had blocked off. This all turned out to be a complete bust as the M30 AFM I picked up makes the car run worse than the one I have now, and sadly after spending over an hour and a half pulling the motor, changing the rear cooling piece and putting the motor back in, the M30 still seems to like it's water at a boiling level.

Also had the throttle pedal fixed (it broke off it's mount), so how the pedal works nice, as well as bled the brakes (might have to do one more pass to make sure those are good)

All in all productive day, but not as successful as I have hoped. I'm really hoping that I can find some more air pockets somewhere in this motor that'll help bring the cooling temp down.

Everyone with M30 swaps mentions the temperature while cruising to be at 1/4. For me I can never seem to be below the half way mark, cruising, idling or w/e.
