    Rieger lip part 2

got the lip polished up this morning and stuck her on the car. my car is filthy and it's projected to rain for the next 2 week straight, I'll get better pics when I have a chance to wash her.

Anyway, I love the way it looks - now that I look at pics of my car with an is lip, I like the rieger lip a lot more.. I think that if I do destroy this one i'll probably buy a real one. I have 4.5" of ground clearance up front, more than other people with rieger lips, so I should be okay.

The lip looks infinitely better on the iX, with the stock lack of skirts it looks goofy to me. Awesome paintjob, hope you don't break it too soon.

And I had exactly 4" of clearance under my iS lip last summer, scraped it on driveways at least once every 2 weeks. I think you may be touching up that paint on the corners soon than you think, especially considering the angle of the lip, makes it much more vulnerable.

I dunno, I've only curbed my car once, and that was with the i lip. I drove the is lip into 2 feet of water once, but it didn't come off. :)

280 for the filler and plastic, 400 after the first layer of primer, then 600 on the next 2 coats of primer, 1000 on the second coat of base, 1000 on the second coat of clear and finally 2000 on the 4th coat of clear, then polished by hand with 3m rubbing compound and a microfiber towel... phew!

that's 4 layers of primer, 3 of base and 4 of clear. one can of each (with flex additives). and only one cat hair embedded near the top.. lol.

Looks awesome man. I knew it would look great on the iX, and it definately looks better than the iS lip. When I had a Rieger lip I had just below 3" of clearance. iS lip has a lot more, I've only scraped it once I think.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

in time.. maybe a year or so. who knows. don't care too much now really, but I'll keep embarrasing people by kicking their asses in autox with a 4 door automatic until the day comes for a swap. ;)

got the Rieger lip (replica) in a group buy, don't think there is going to be another one either. some people were selling theirs so check the FS/FT forum..

weather still sucks so no cleaned up shots :(

                          Awesome rattle-can job :D

I didn't think anyone would actually be able to fit that lip on nicely after seeing the pics Jordan posted, but yours looks great.

yeah I think his was warped more than mine. still needs some adjustment, it fit better the first time I put it on, but it's not too bad right now.
