thought I'd start a thread that everyone could post their pics on. we didn't really take that many, it rained when we went to lunch and we were pretty busy trying to fix some E30s. ;)










no accidents this time, but we only drove down the street to get pizza. I did almost kill everyone in my car on the way back from autozone though (haha ;)).

the other M3 left before I could get pics of it, it was pretty sweet too.

sorry if half of the pics are of my car, haven't had a chance to take pics in a while. :P

Yeah I got my track tires mounted (Falken Azenias) as my Kopis tires are worn out (ES100's)

So here are pictures of the 04/24 MINI MEET

Got over to Grants house to pull some parts off the beater, and discuss me taking the engine out of it..

First we filled up and started to bleed the coolant system on his 325ix..No real issue, took coolant fine, waterpump was not leaking at all..but for some reason the temp was sitting between Middle and Hot..it was also taking a really long time to warm up...At this point I figured it must also be a bad Thermostat...okay. Well seeing as we are using used parts off the parts car..


First we scoped out the parts car...and was able to find a pretty new thermostat.



Second, we decided that testing the parts car thermostat would probably be a good idea, just so I didn't have to waste any time ripping into the thermostat and draining some coolant for nothing.



Once testing the thermostat we (being me) ripped into the IX and removed the old thermostat...only to find a small suprise.






It was bent after I stepped on it later..forgot to take a picture.

The old one snapped on one side, causing it to stick open, and cause the engine to overheat as it would never open 100%.

Finally I tossed the parts car thermo in, got everything tight, bled the system (fucking heatercore trapping air) and got everything happy.

the 325IX runs again!!!.


Once that was complete we ripped into the parts car and removed several things that Grant can sell. I determined that mid may I will be returning and yanking the motor, cleaning it up and tossing it in my car for a quick HP fix while I build up my 2.8/Turbo Motor down the road...it also allows me to save some money to clean up my interior and make the car overall a nicer ride.
