You would not put it on the car to make the car faster, you put it on to make the car more stable at speed. If done properly, it reduces lift under the car and creates pressure - bassically suction - that helps keep the car on the ground. Given that the ETA is not the most powerful engine in the lineup - if he did go to a track he'll need to carry as much speed as he can and this can help the car achieve that through increased stability. It also improves breaking. BMW equips a small factory undercarriage pannel on the car because as air flows under the car, it gets in the engine bay and disturbs the flow. This is why on the m3's, the EVO undertrays cover virtually all the way down the engine bay, and also has a "venturi" that improves downforce at high speeds by redirecting airflow. When coupled with a difuser in the rear - this alone is very effecting in creating downforce without the use of wings. In point, this is why the Enzo does no need a wing, ect - the body is shaped so well it creates its own downforce. BMW also encorporated the e30 m3 evo style front undertray with the veturi into the standard undertray on the e36 m3. A hood scoop would look like he's serious and it's really a big help......when really it's a pointless rice idea. Josh don't need a venturi effect on his slow as balls eta, no matter if it will have dual valve springs or whatnot. Only a ricer would try to get an eta to pose as fast as a 325is.
