      Had a 87 635CSi that did the same thing. I banged on the starter a few times to shake the brushes and at the same time, I also pulled the main relay and cleaned up the connections. It fired right up.

        Thanks for that. Ill smack the starter next time. If its the ignition switch Im wiring a push button on the dash so you dont need a key

          Want some power sports for it? I got a black set and a tan set. Plus I think I have some red door cards and a red rear seat.... top vent conversion (make it a real vent) and a bunch of other random crap.

            Thanks but My limit on this car is 470 dollars and Ive reached that already. Its merely the cheapest winter transportation possible. I have no desire to fix this up besides maintenance to make it dependable

                        so last night at 530 pm it was fucking cold here and i was going to run to the store. I start the e28 and figure Ill let it run a little bit so i go inside. Then I get a call and start talking on the phone. I hang up and my wife wants me to watch this program on the travel channel about a place we are going to this winter. At 1130pm I remember I started my car to let it warm up LOL It burned 1/4 tank of gas but was just fine
