    E36 M3 guys first E30

so i picked up a e30 for the winter while the /m is in storage. i traded a set of wheels for the car+ cash. its a alpine 91 318is manual. cool little car but of course it has its flaws and if you guys could give some advice then that would be awesome.

hood wont catch the latch and shut
trunk latch is rusted out and it also wont shut. bungee corded down
the cars just shuts off sometimes when not in gear and rolling to a stop or around a sharp corner.
passengers window dont work.(electric) guessing the motors shot
windshield wipers on the fastest setting hardly move
drivers door key hole dosnt work.
left half of the clusters lights dont work

also, what could the button forward of the passengers window button be?

pics of car, odometer reads 242K miles:)

Id say garage the e30 and run that e36 as a winter beater... Nothing special about an e36 M.

      Welcome to r3v.

The button just right above the passenger window switch, is a,lock button to the windows, try replacing the window switches first before you change the motors.
The wiper motor will definitely will need to be replaced as well as the lock to the trunk and hood. I'll comeback for more when my phone charges...

oh and the cluster is easy, replace the worn out bulbs or the cell, the key hole needs a new set of locks dude. Good luck and welcome to R3V.

Thats a sexy little m42 you got there. Can't wait to see her all dolled up. I believe the hood latch can be adjusted a bit. The rear latch should probably just be replaced. Also, If you found rust there, check your weather stripping for leakage. I'd give her a tune up before checking for other issues. Usual spark plugs, wires, oil, fuel filter ect.... As far as the other items are concerned, time for replacement parts.

          Good luck and nice e30.

Nothing special about E30 318's. The ///M is worth a lot more.

Nice pickup for a beater. You will have a lot of fun in the snow.

Love the Bostongrun m3, and is it on Modena also? Sweet color combo! love the style 5's on the e36 too, very classy. Welcome.

Wow, I love type A's...just not on E36's. First time I've seen that combo.
It could be the lack of drop as to why the wheels don't look good tho, that'll make any set of wheels look bad.
