It's missing the mtechnic badges, and I'm sure they are not going to be easy to find.

I'm going to restore this car and my question is: should I put my cherry 77k S50 & ZF 5spd or keep it original? This car is so rare, would the S50 add value or would it be better to keep it stock?

There was a blue m-tech awhile back that was turbo'ed, guy couldnt sell it.
I agree, not that I'm a complete purist but a stock M-Tech is going to bring a better value down the road.

The turbo'ed guy couldn't sell his car for several other reasons besides the turbo & he wasn't really trying - he was fishing. When he finally got serious, a respected member of this board snapped it up it - pictures of the car are in this thread.

Very nice wheels & stance !! Interested in your springs after you put in your new suspension.

Thanks for the words - we started pm'ing yesterday. The quantity I have is really pretty limited (like the M-Technic cars) as they're not in high demand as other NLA parts are - like a "motorsport" E30 dead pedal.

Spacers in the back would be great. Either that or bigger lips, but that'd be more expensive.

Yeah, to be honest, I didn't care for the turbo and was almost going to have him convert it back to NA but it was already done along with engine rebuild, 5 speed swap (conversion or not it's a big plus), suspension, mounts, etc. It's a pretty rare car but not very well known as we all know. I think that kind of hinders it's value but I'm sure a clean stock one will fetch top dollar from the right buyer, like the one in Sac. I feel that most people with that kind of money will just go for the M3, unless they already have one =]. I, however, didn't buy this car for resale. I always wanted one and the turbo was nice bonus. Macao just happened to be the rarest color as well so I struck a deal.

In regards to engine swaps on these cars. These cars, unlike the M3, aren't known for their engine nor did they have a special engine designed for it. It's just a regular M20 that came in every 325i. So in my opinion, engine swaps or turbocharging shouldn't lower their value but add value to most people. Then there are some who just want it bone stock with no mods but what fun is that? =]

I agree - that photo is @ 3 yrs old when I first restored these wheels. Have since added a 4mm spacer in the rear & makes a difference.

The wheels are kinda rare - I've only seen one other set & they had the same lips. Do you know of some or a wider interchange lip that would fit?
