    Cool and nice,,

i like the idea ,, but DO NOT except very much,, gain as the M30 head is not well designed for flowing air.. in N/A ,, thats a fact ((as M20 and M70)) but you should get 250-260 horses with a cam + itb

the throttle responce should be good

i dont give a flying fuxx what others say about the airbox etc etc,, but i would for sure try to get an oem S38 or M88/3 airbox/accumulator,, ,, also if you get a oem box,, on S38B36 you must control the torque flap ,, on M88/3 there is not such thing

These engineers at BMW M-Gmbh are no fools,,

you could also do a good heat shield,, thats the most importand thing IMO.. if you are going ,,just running trumpets you will get a hell of a induction sound,, but will suffer a little gain i think when the air is hot inside
    A. Graham Bell ((4stroke perfomance)) wrote that by incrasing the engine bay temp up buy 13°c your engine will loose 7 horses (i cant remember the average engine size)

so a good airflow to the intake-system is a key to success

    Good luck with this ,,

to be OT i show you pics of my engine bay,,

    AND IT WORKS,,,,,,,,,,

Yeah the e30 has been on the back burner for a while, I am putting together another e34 and I can only do so much at once. Just got hooked up with a new machine shop though a couple weeks back so I'm planning on having the T-stat housing done soon then figuring out where my clearance issues will be

In related news I think Paul Burke is offering TB adapters that require a lot less port matching than the ones I have as well as a better design for the bottom hole

depending how this works out. I might have to do this. Although cali police don't like ITB's too much.

Looks like a nice set-up, but what happens when all the air in the engine is hot, and heat soaks the intake temps? I'd imagine the car would do even worse then the factory plenum and intake... :???:

I believe the ix booster is smaller, but what about slotting the firewall and sliding the booster over? That may gain you just enough space.

Also what are you running for exhaust? I couldn't find anything in your build thread.

Depends on the angle when they are bolted up, but yeah, probably so. I have roughly 11" of clearance in a straight line from the intake port to booster, probably not enough for adapter + TB + airhorn + filter. Chances are I will end up having to go with the s14 horns or something similar. I would consider swapping boosters but I can't seem to find any info on size differences between stock and e21 boosters though

I will get more videos after the ITB's are done.. I need to figure out this misfire and do something about my exhaust first. It has some shitty perforated tips on it right now and it sounds wayyyy too raspy.
