i think that pic of the m5 you posted DOES have the rear fins removed. i experimented with mine last night after i got the t-stars off, and they don't normally sit that far in with the fins in there.

i ended up getting mine on bimmerforums, but i've discovered the best place is probably mye28, they have them frequently on there.

gonna be digging these things out pretty soon. once the car comes out of storage in the next couple weeks i'll begin the refurbing process and post updates in this thread.

my only progress all winter was a set of MHW-style homebrew all-reds.

The tails look great. I did the same to mine before I stored it for the winter.

Sad to see the RS's go, but I'm definitely excited to see your car with turbines! Have you decided on what tire size you'll run? I expect there to be a little poke with the offset of the m-systems and the adapters.

i'm not 100% sure yet, but i've been doing a lot of research as far as how certain tire models run in the various sizes i'm considering. i imagine i'll probably end up with 205 and 215/40, but i'd like a tire than runs a little wider. i'm going for a bit of a burlier, motorsport look.

the final offsets will be within a few mms of my RSs, rears won't poke quite as much though.

If it helps any, in that picture above of the blue car, stale30 was running 205/40s on the 8" fronts.

i've had a couple conversations with him, and i believe he was actually on 195/40s and 225/35s.

i'm not going to be quite as low as he was but i'd also like a little more meat on there.

gotta find that balance between appearance and fender interference. :)
