It's a 1972 Mercedes Benz 300 SEL 6.3. Basically it was the first car that AMG tinkered with before they actually became AMG. Essentially they took the 6.3 litre v8 from the 600 Grosser and jammed it in the garden variety saloon 300 SEL creating what was known as the Bankers Hot Rod. They produced 6500 of them from 1968 to 1972 and for that period it was the fastest four door saloon in the world. Good for a quarter mile time in the mid to low 14's and 0 - 100 in just over 6 seconds.
Its my weekend feel good car. When you've had a prick of a week, everything has gone wrong, the missus wont put out and your dog has shit on the carpet, this is the car that makes it all not matter.
Plus, if any peanut in some riced up skyline or some V8 gaybox Commodore (Caprice or Lumina I think for you guys) trys to leave you at the lights, the look on their faces when you sit level peg with them is priceless :)

Easily the best part of the car and the bit that sold it for me (aside from the grunt) was the interior. The previous owner (an Indonesian Prince no less) lavished the entire thing in acres of red leather. You seriously just cant help but smile every time you drive it.

And yeah, it does a decent skid ;) If any of you read Jalopnik you may remember this video from a few months back. Somehow they found it and lots of people got up in arms about skidding a classic car like this. Fuck em I say :hitler:
