Awesome. Yeah, I really don't like living so close to downtown. It takes me 10 min. to drive five blocks. So bogus. Glad to hear you like it up there.

If all I need is some custom engine mounts the M30 might be the way to go. I guess my only other question is whether or not it's as reliable as the newer engines.

Just as, if not more reliable for sure. Reliability would not be a concern with either the m5x or m30. You should check out the GA forum on bimmerforums, tons of local e30 people on there.

^^I'm going to check that out.

Question... as far as the combustion process is concerned, what all does the ECU control (i.e., ignition, fuel/air ratio, etc.)? For instance, without the ECU, would the motor turn over? I was discussing possible reasons for why I couldn't get her to crank with a friend of mine, and we concluded that it was likely because it wasn't getting fuel (so either the filter was clogged, or the pump isn't pumping). The other idea was a bad crank sensor, but every time I've seen one of those go, it's shown signs of dying (i.e., taking longer and longer to crank).

I'm still very new to these engines, so any help or insights would be great. Thanks!
