Drove to Sac Town and picked up my new valance at Bavarian Auto Recycling. Those guys are awesome. My part was waiting for me. Also dropped by the BMW dealership to get the air & oil filter, bolts for the oil pan & gasket. Got all the fluids and tomorrow, everything will be worked on. Noticed the BMW junkyard there are side by side and there was a pick n pull that looked better than the one I've been to.

Next week, I will tackle the timing belt and water pump replacement. My first time doing all these stuff. All my mechanical stuff has always been done at my brother's shop. This time, I'm serious about learning to do this by myself. Got my Bentley manual and scan tool all ready to go.

I still need the black trims for the front bumper. Anyone?

Yeah that bothers me so much. The PO had the whole car repainted and the they screwed putting the badges back in the right spot. I'm going to take them off and put them back the right way.

And I got my last 5spd for $650. However, he got a late model in decent shape. I never said EVERY e30 has this fanboy mark-up, just most...

No wonder why there's an oil leak. Oil pan bolt were not complete and after scrubbing the pan, I discovered several cracks. So definitely needs a replacement. I had that suspicion and I was trying to deny it. But I can't do anything but to just replace it.

Btw, also as I am under the car, I notice there were 2 holes there with bolt holes that didn't have anything attached to it. Does anyone know what belongs in there? See photo:

So I finally took off the oil pan. Loosened the motor mounts a little to Raise the engine so I can take the pan off easily. Man it's all sludge in there. I'm scrubbing the darn thing to expose the metal and I'm huffin' and puffin'.

Another problem I found btw, was the AC doesn't work. Well, it does but only on No. 4 and it makes a whirring sound.

Could that be the blower motor? Is the resistor responsible for the speed of the blower?

I have a whole HVAC sitting in my garage. Do I put the whole thing or just take the blower motor and resistor to replace the one in the car?

Blower motor resistor is typically the cause of it only functioning on the 4th speed. As for your AC not working, could be a multitude of problems..

I guess I was mistaken. The AC blows cold on No. 4. 1,2,&3 doesn't work. So I should replace the resistor first and see what happens. But what about the whirring sound it makes when the blower turns on, what causes that?

Fixing the Oil Pan To Stop Leaking

I gotta scrub it clean first.

                        Scrubbed it a little

                        Is this normal?

Scuffed the oil pan with sand paper.

                        Clean oil pan

Hope this holds up... JB Weld.

does heat have to do anything with it?

Got the oil pan back in. Discovered that 2 holes have a broken bolt in there.
                                What do I do?

Power steering rack won't effing go back in so I can't bolt it on the subframe.
                                Holy effing pancit-eating mother humper!!!
