But good stuffs! cool your doing it mostly by yourself.
Im getting my friend into e30's & never thought she would be interested in maintaining an old bmw and modifying it,
but females enjoying e30's makes me happyyy
I'm getting help from a friend, trying to learn as much as I can. He's like an e30 encyclopedia. I hope one day I'll be as advanced as him, and you guys as well. I think it's incredibly interesting, and would love to learn as much as I can. I eventually would like to restore an old hot rod, so this is a great learning experience, seeing as how I have the time and funds to do it!
I always loved bimmers, and classic fast cars, so this seemed like a really good match. Maybe that's why your friend got into it too. There's just so many options you can do with these cars and they still look absolutely beautiful. Good luck with your bmw, and your friend's! I wish you both the best of luck with them!

    anyway looking good!
i have an automatic too, some people say its cool to do the 5sp swap and others keep saying just buy a different car. if i can't sell mine, then im taking my money and building it up, 5sp swap and all.

p.s can't you call your ride something unisex like Dylon? lol
Aw, maybe that's why I've been having all these nightmares about crashing in Zach, getting T-boned, rear ending a mini van, and running over a crossing guard lol. I gotta say I am willing to take my chances. As soon as I saw him I was like "HEY IT'S ZACH!" I knew it had to be man, as I've never named a car before, or had an urge to name one. As for the unisex name, that is a good idea. If it makes you guys feel any better you can think of "Zach" as the most flaming fairy feminine male you've ever met in your life, and then not feel so odd/bad about my name choice :)

Thanks for the compliments dude, I appreciate it. I've spent the past 4 months trying to figure out what I want to do with this car. I went from wanting to keep it as stock as possible, to a complete opposite paint color, back to being somewhere in the middle. I figured since a repaint is in definite need (as I have minor rust around in various places) I'll keep the original color, but make a few mods that really won't do much harm, such as the is lip, mtech wing, sideskirts, window tinting, wheels, etc etc. All those things can't really take away any value, so why not?

As for automatic, I would like to have until someone can give me a lesson on driving stick. I've had verbal lessons and visual instructions from friends, but I'm too afraid I'll fuck the car up to give it a try. I figured (if money and the right car permits) I would buy a 5 speed and keep my automatic. My reason being is that everyone seems to do a swap and there doesn't seem to be as many automatic e30's. One day I think they will be worth more once the "classic" title comes along, just because it wasn't touched and messed around with like so many other ones. I think one of each would be great anyways. God forbid something happens to one, you always have another to fall back on. That's my take on it at least.

It's really easy to drive a manual, you just have to do it. You won't mess up a friends car other than some clutch wear. Practice shifting while the engine isn't running and you won't damage a thing. Get out and get to it!

Nice 25is! For me it would only need a stick to be perfect.

I say the same thing, except the roads in PA would cause me to go through a new oil pan every 10 feet. I'm scraping the is lip on some roads now. Gotta miss the flat Florida roads :/

And you guys are probably going to kill me for this, but I personally like it.. Here's some pics of the interior redo..

These seats are temporary. I have some m3 tan cabrios that need to be cleaned up some. And I'm getting the side of the drivers reupholstered, it's torn :/ So the interior will be entirely tan m3 soon.

its doable. Ive been driving in urban seattle roads(terrible) with a fist of oilpan cleance since last summer without a skidplate. you just learn how to do it after a while ;)

I guess I'll have to take your word for it. I don't think I'll lower anything without a skidplate though. And when I do end up lowering, it'll be one of the last things done to my car. Got paint, muffler, a few odds and ends, and an m3 interior to worry about :)
