save it. the body is straight, the frame is straight(from the looks), and its an e30. no reason not to enjoy it at the track since you got it for so cheap.
shit man id take it! drift it for sure. small block swap(maybe 302), gut it, role cage, and slam it. the best part is you wont feel bad for trashing it!
Replace springs, get wheels, check and see how bad the body is underneath. Most people pay 3 times that for a rolling chassis. Does it run okay? If so look at it this way:
1. Get a set of springs for the car either used in classifieds or $150-$250 for something decent. You could even buy a set of factory springs for a few bucks from another member on here to get you by for pennies. So let's say $200 worst case scenario.
2. Get a set of bottlecaps for less than $100. Often you can find them with tires at a junkyard.
- Now you have fixed the biggest two issues for $250 and you have a $450 e30. You're still winning.
Now for the cosmetics:
3. Find a set of comfort seats for cheap on the classifieds or look around your local junkyard. I've picked complete interiors up for less than $100.
$550 with a cleaner interior, still winning.
4. Get a book on how to do bodywork and paint. The car looks generally straight but plan on some shady work underneath. It may be ugly, but it's straght. You could buy all the materials and do it yourself at a rented booth for around $1K for an "acceptable" job. Perhaps less if you are clever or do the bodywork and take it to a Maaco. (what I would do) If you look closely, they even painted the door jambs so I would think they may have done some decent work on the body. Again, the pictures make it look pretty straight.
$1550 for a cleanish four door 318i.
Get all of the maintenance done, find a crack free dash, sell the tires off the crap wheels, turn in the crap wheels for scrap, get a set of fog lights, grill set...
$2000 is what people would jump on for a cleaner four door 318i. And guess who's a winner? You. Good luck. That car is salvageable.
1. No title
2. there is more bondo than there is metal on the doors
3. no.
lol If you would like you can take it..
The motor and tranny are perfect in this car. Oil is clean and so is the antifreeze. runs great and sounds like a honda.

either that or part it.
Dude, I have a 89 ford with a 302 sitting in my back yard. The driveshaft is busted but I will slam that motor in this car in 2 seconds.
Someone also mentioned "track truck"
That mixed with drift actually sounds bad ass. Hmmmm as I begin to ponder.
