Here is what you do, go to the junkyard and find a foxbody with a good motor, take said motor and put it in the e30. Epic track car.

perm-vert? Nah, too much stress on the roll cage. I'm thinking baja style, Like some of the subie's? 4-door truck right? that's different. I first wanna check all the requirements for most cars in local or most events period. I dont wanna cut it up and not be able to attend an auto-x or track day. Right now im doing brainstorming on the powerplant. Can't build a suspension if I have no idea what kind of power I'm going to make. I'm gonna see how much I can do for under $1500. This is going to be an awesome challenge.
The paint might stay simply because I don't want to push the budget just trying to strip paint. But hell, if I can get my hands on some chemicals then so be it. I just can't believe the amount of bondo on it. omg this is going to be so fun. I've torn a car apart before but never really made one my own. Most of my cars were my daily.
So it's announced, I appreciate all the input on the poll and It has turned out to be quite helpful. Track car it is, it may turn into a track truck depending on if I can get my hands on the proper equipment to bend the tubing. This should be fun to mess with and also document.

dude, you've always givin great advice on my threads, That's exactly what I want to do. I have a 302 but its flat tappet and I don't want to spend cash trying to convert it to a roller. Starting with an H.O. will be best. plus a T5 is also in order.

not nearly as bad as this lol. definately has tougher suspension and silly stuff, but my paint job takes the cake. It even had sweet m3 vents on the old fenders and all the black trim was painted green. You can kind of tell on the b pillar

check out my build. I def. feel you pain man. but a deal is a deal. you made out better then i did imo. I dropped 400 and it needed a clutch.
STICK WITH IT!! and good luck man. More people need to make saves on ones like thesefaint in, throttle out.Comment

Pics now work... Oh wait... I have an update. Here, lemme pull it up
Turned out the motor was recently rebuilt. I can tell my the helicoil inserts and all the gaskets are brand freaking new down to the oil pan. I didn't think to check the engine out as I assumed it was shit because of the rice kid I bought it from.
Check it.

American Muscle?
Decided to use this car for a mock up until I can get the cash for a welder and make a decent cage for it. Went and bought a 302 with an automatic tranny for a few bucks. Took the transmission since I knew I could sell it for way more than I paid for the combo. Or I can just keep it on the side as it's the same Transmission for my truck.
On to the pictures.
OOPS!
Prepping the bay
And my daily driver dropping in for some attention, getting prepped for the valence swap.
