Its a real shame that you guys hafta have a front plate. I actually like the prepped look of the calipers better than the blue. Other than that, this car has been winning for years...im a fan! :up:Leave a comment:

Coilover conversion time!
I finally got around to putting a real set of coilovers on my car. I had been running Eibach fronts/H&R convertible rears before but the ride height was still too high and the ride was shit. After speaking on the phone with the guys from GC we decided on 450/600# springs. First off was to pull out the old strut tubes
I welded on the GC collars and strengthened up the tubes

Then they got a fresh coat of paint

before/after

While I was in there I also decided to paint my UUC BBK calipers. All prepped

and painted with hi-temp primer and hi-temp blue

Everything installed

I also removed 2/3 of the internal bumpstops from the Bilstiens. The car rides better than ever, I love it.
I also had a set of Euro smiley headlights to install. They didn't come with pigtails however so I made my own wiring setup

They plug straight in to the factory sealed beam plugs

All soldered and shrink-wrapped

I rigged this up for the city light connections. They're wired in to the front indicators.

I also changed out the city light bulbs for LEDs that more closely match the HID ellips

I also went with LED plate lights

And installed the new door handles

It's time for spring!! I can't wait for better whether. I'll get some shots of the new ride height up tomorrow.Last edited by CorvallisBMW; 04-25-2011, 03:22 PM.Tags: None
