New (to me) 1991 318is

Looks nice Kev. Your M3 was probably one of my top 3 all time favorites. Why didn't you get another M3?

What suspension is on that new car right now?

Why no M3 right now? Budget mainly. I want to wait a few years and try my hand at importing a garage queen EVO2 or EVO3. In the short term I need a daily driver/track rat. Having lost 2 cars in 2 years at the track due to mechanical failures, I am not willing to put anything rare or expensive on the track. So a S14 powered 318is fits the bill perfectly for the track, and a e30 M3 will end up being a polished Sunday cruiser and a (yet to be leased) Chryco minivan is perfect to take the dings at the mall.

On the 318is right now are 3+ year old Eibach Pro Kit and Bilstein sports. It currently drives like a 88 Dodge Aries, but that will sorted out in the next couple of weeks based on the stuff I've ordered below:

• Polyurethane subframe bushings
• Polyurethane trailing arm bushings
• Polyurethane offset control arm bushings
• New steel control arms
• Z3 steering rack kit (2.7 turns lock to lock)
• New tie rods
• GC 440/625 w/shortened revalved Konis
• 4.10 LSD
• Falken Azenis RT615 tires in 215/40/17

Love the car, I like those wheels a lot too, just wish they came wider in 4x100. Too bad about the M3. Can't wait to see your progress.

I've made some updates and I thought I'd share the results:

The changes are:

• 500f/750r GC suspension w/custom valved Konis
• E30 M3 sway bars
• E30 M3 struts and brakes
• BBS RY II 17x8 wheels

And the results...
