the truck i hit had 1 tiny little ding on the bumper, i kinda just slid under it and bounced off his spare tire.....it was a really scary experience, and i hope noone has to ever go through that

Damn, you must have hit them pretty good for your car to look like that. Of course it will be your fault for not allowing enough space to stop. I had an accident happen right in front of me, I ended up rear ending someone and they said it was my fault since I should have allowed enough space to avoid it.

Really, my E46 was totaled by someone who was not paying attention and rear ended me while I was waiting to pull into my driveway. The OP is lucky that he learned his lesson in a $1500 e30 and at a lower speed with little or no injuries.
