    My 1990 E30 316i Alpineweiss

    I was looking for an instrument cluster (costs ~$275) on the local classifieds, and I found this;

    ..for only $1000! So I called the guy and convinced him to sell it to me for $700. I'm just back from seeing the car, and I must say;

    It is quite rusty, the engine sounds like it is going to blow up, it has blue fabric comfort interior, it smells, and has a couple of dents.

    But its an E30, and it's AW. So what the hell. It starts, but I don't know if it drives. Hasn't been moved since 2007.
    Looking forward to pick it up tomorrow.

                $700 is dirt cheap for an E30 over here. I'm very happy.
                It's "simple" ;)

                Yeah, it doesn't need a revcounter. 0-60 in about 15 minutes.

                Never seen a E30 with airbags in real life, actually. HVAC panel will probably also be put up for sale, as I have a 13-button OBC somewhere in my shed.

                M40B16. 8v. 101 horsepower.. Slow as fuck.

                      eh m40b18 is slow but torquey, it's pretty fun for around town. Alot more fun than an american automatic v6 car

                            I just parked it outside next to my vert.

                            What an awesome little POS. It feels quite fast, but that could just be because I'm used to driving the Mini, and the fact that the wheels are 4 aluminium squares. It's quite wobbly, but other than that I actually like it.
                            I had a quick look at the underside of the car, and I was suprised. In a good way. The exhaust is new, catalytic converter is new, heat shields looks new, not much rust at all. Need some new brake lines, but hey. Every car does.
                            The battery is dead (after not being used for 5 years, its understandable), and the blower engine makes rattly sounds.

                            And last but not least.

                            If you ever think about turning on the heater at full power on a car that has been sitting and collecting dust for 5 years, don't. I'm blind and dying.

                            That would be all. Good night
