And the money shot I suppose (at least out of these pics, theyll all in pretty bad light) ...

Nice and clean. I always think IX's look good with some nice and meaty rubber on 15s. Balances out the High-Jacker lift kit look. ;)

Yeah, rims would be nice, and I was this close to buying your Jordan. But I figured my money would be better off being spent making the car problem free first. I am finnally caving and Im going to lower the front end of the car by cutting the coil by 1 1/2 rungs. Its been documented in the ix registry and its free! Still should leave me with enough clearance for snowboarding, and itll get rid of the goofy front ride height.

Also the rims will most likely go next summer when the tires wear out. Then Ill pawn em off to some Honda guy and buy some 16's. Thatll be pretty nice. Maybe Ill just spend the cash on some 15" tires for my 15" ix rims. THeyre pretty beat, but I bet I could get some decent rubber, have em refinished, and still come out with some profit.

you're thinking of cutting your springs? what!

spring for the real thing, it's only like 200-300 bucks, don't be cheap. plus it will handle much better, for me, suspension is no longer about the looks.

You need to find the caps lock key.

Those wheels have no hope, even with a drop they'd look ridiculous.

                    Looks clean though.

The IX folks have been doing this for years. Not entirely kosher maybe but still tried and tested.

what ix folks? gordon haines did it like 10 years ago, but it's still a cheapass thing to do. H&R sports for the ix are only $220, why bother butchering your car and ruining the handling just for looks?

keep it stock, put real lowering springs on it, or sell the damn thing rather than destroying another ix..

Didn't say it was a good idea or that there weren't better options. But it has been done with some success by other people than Gordon.

do what you want, its your car. I live in germany, and i can get dropped springs all day long for almost free from the junkyards here, I have ridden on "cut" springs plenty of times, and it will ride fine as long as you dont cut too much-- not that i am saying it is the right thing to do. personally I really like the wheel on your car, with a drop it will look awesome! keep it clean!!

what is it going to destroy? If it really handles that bad, then he can go out and buy a set of dropped springs. I say its worth a try if you dont have the cash for a set of dropped springs. hell, if your going to do it right, then he needs to drop abunch of cash on dropped, revalved shocks too, which makes the price that much more for the lowering.
Basically all i am saying is it is not like he is going to do something that is not reversable, like cutting holes in the car.

Fielding. I can give you a set of stock ES springs that should bring that car down a bit. Better than cutting them, IMO. It's just not worth the trouble to get them off, cut them, and put them back on.
