First E30 for $800

I've been wanting to get into an e30 for years now and I've finally got one. It's a 1985 schwarz 325e. The car would shake violently at about 35mph the PO had just put in a new driveshaft and didnt want to mess with it anymore. Supposedly he was a certerfied mechanic but didn't know he didn't line up the knuckles, so after fixing the driveshaft for zero dollars i have a mechanically sound car.

Pros:
Pretty straight body just one dent
blistien sport shocks with h&r springs
tms chip
interior decent
all power window etc work
newer 5speed tranny
centerforce clutch
box of extra goodies including all new rotors, break pads, water pump and tierods

Cons:
dash looks like Hati after earthquake
no stereo
speedo or od doesnt work
no dash lights at all

Your speedo and odo not working is most likely the speed sensor on the diff. I have the same problem never got around fixing it.

Maybe a swap in a long time and I was thinking it was the sensor too because everything else besides the millage in the cluster works but I don't really want to spend the $70 and it not fix the problem.

Ask for the sensor here in parts, or pic-n-pull. Do stuff like that and your sense of worth/value in the car will grow. Enjoy, it sounds like you've got the hands-on drive that can make the car go many many more miles.:D
