Suspension, with the H&R, the spring rates are really too soft. GC coils are normally a better choice.
I would recommend the 91 octane Mark D chip, you don't need injectors.
I'd agree, I'm not too happy with my H&R's. I wish I would of gotten GC.

I'm kind of a suspension newb. Would H&Rs or GCs lower the car much? My understanding of the ix is that it rides slightly higher because, well, its an ix and can handle snowy conditions? Is that right?

I don't like how high the front seems relative to the rear, but I also wouldn't want to lower it too much.

I also read that GCs require a lot of additional steps for installation. Can anyone confirm?

          Thanks for the recs.

beautiful car man! can't believe only 60k miles!

i'm not sure about the iX model, but i have h&r sport springs and bilstein sport struts and my car feels very solid and well planted.

you probably don't want to do GC to lower the car half an inch. although you can run them on the stock perches, it's sort of pointless. the H&Rs will be fine, with konis it's easy to trim the bumpstops to avoid the suspension travel issues.

GC on the ix require the same thing as any other E30 - cut and weld the spring perches.

That car come from Virgina? Nice find, extremely clean I'm sure it was at least 4.5K ball park. Do you plan to use it in the winter?

I'd like to try it out at least once in the snow, but after I get that out of my system I'll probably avoid driving it in the sand/salt/snow mix that usually results following a snow storm.

Listen to Nando, that guys got knowledge. If your just looking for a mild drop H&R's will do just fine. I trimmed a coil off the front and with bilstien HD's it rides good for what it is.

Hey r3v, just wanted to let you all know that I followed your advice and reached out to Guten Parts+Service a couple of weeks ago.

I took my ix over there yesterday for an inspection and Levent and his guys took great care of her. They put her up on the lift and performed a thorough inspection, helped restore some missing oem parts (clips/clamps), and sorted our some criss-crossed wires in my engine bay.

Also had the timing/water pump/etc. done while up on the lift.

If you're in N. NJ, I would highly recommend going to GPS. I plan on going back in January to do my suspension and exhaust. They have a great team over there and took good care of my baby. They also have an amazing collection of e30s.
