    Its alive !! My e30.

Finally got the damn thing put together, modified, started, idling and stopping. Took it to the car wash and found out that just using the power wash I can blast off most the first layer of paint. Previous owner did alot of shitty work on it. Second layer of silver paint is coming thru so I need to repaint in near future. Gonna do gun metal grey kinda color.

Also came with those horrible DTM 3.5" tips which will be chopped off and new tips welded on. Anyone have a welder ? Muffler doesn't sound to bad its pretty deep.

    Future work:
2 new low beams both are filled with water
    Tuck front and rear bumper
    Cd player has nothing now
Momo Steering wheel current one sucks
    springs/shocks and drop it
new paint and painted bumper surrounds
paint rear yellow turn signal red
    new window tint

Its main purpose is to work till I get the motor swap worked out. Currently leaning towards M52 aluminium head and aluminium block with OBD1 intake manifold, 3.5 HFM, S52 headers, S52 cams.

Austin, I think I've chatted with you in some M42 threads over on BF.c, how is your 318 doing?

Nice E30, polaris is one of my favorite colors. Euro bumpers would be the tits on that car if you can a) find used ones or b) afford new ones

That's pretty gross, but judging by that beautiful E36, I trust that we will soon have yet another hot E30 in our presence. Those wheels look great, and would be really hot if you had them powdercoated/refinished.

Thanks for the comments. I'll look into euro bumpers not sure if I've ever seen any still new to e30 stuff.

The 318 is still running great with 260k on the motor and tranny and no rebuilds yet. I consider the 318 pretty much "done" and the e30 is ready to begin.

Head lights, paint, susp, engine, seats....everything will be changed till it has a smooth clean look for now its "ruff rice" as I call it. Referring to the exhaust tips.

Think I'll actually go darker on the color more of a grey so not a hard contrast between body color and rims. The rims are 16" TWS hockenhiems that I had repaired and powder coated black only missing the center cover over the lugs I forgot to put on before taking the pics.

I've already started rebuilding the suspension ordered control arm bushings, rear shock mounts stuff like that.

Anyone have pics of grey or silver cars with black rims ? Or just grey/silver cars that look clean ?

Gonna keep rebuilding suspension before I drop it H&R/bilstein. Its alot of money to spend on a ETA but I dont like to half ass stuff and want a good running car while I rebuild it and research/ learn about e30's. In the end it'll be awesome.

Ouch, you spent money on refinishing TSW's? That'll go to waste pretty soon.

Rims came with the car so basically free and I worked for a BMW dealer in the parts department at the time so I didn't spend alot. ;)
