This thing will nvr be done but once the exhaust is toned down a bit it'll be much more drivable now that the coil shouldnt overheat. That is til the welded dif is in.

This next season is gonna be rad(and probably routy knowing this group) We'll have 3 sbc cars (2 240s and a fc) 1 lt1 fc my sbf a ls1 fc and anouther ls 240 is corrently in the works. Im sure ill spend half the season backwards but its gonna be fun anyways.

didnt get too far on the exhaust yesterday. bolted both fox body shortys on. ended up having to use 2 drivers side headers (1 ponted up/forward on the drivers and one forward/ down on the pass) because if i pointed the header down on the drivers side it hit the frame rail and the oilfilter.

2.5" mandrels from columbia river mandrel

drivers side loops over the frame rail and runs down under the balancer

pass side under the frame rail and back so i have room for the collector.

i tried welding it with the flux core i had but it didnt end well so i ground the drivers welds down and i just tacked the pass side. ill bring it to my buddy bens (hes currently got my dif for welding) to finish weld since he has a nice miller setup with gas.

Also trying to decide if i want to start snaking the 3" throught the maze on the pass side (gotta run under the pass motor mount around and past the starter then down under the trans) or if i wanna leave that to a pro. as it is right now i cant do the collector till i have the 3" ran.

Ive also decided that im going to be getting a ram air setup and running the ducting through the high beam holes. even without an air filter u can hear the engine choke out by just closing the hood. not to mention it'll be cold compressed air being forced in vs the hot under hood air.

lol, well that's one way to do an exhaust.

sounds great. looks like it pulls great.

i LOVE the engine placement though. oh man. it sits so low and back in the engine bay.

youve go no choice you cant run the header back because the lack of space with the steering and u can wrap it around the frame rail on the drivers side but it winds up in the same place and i figured with some header wrap the temps will stay down.

Post as many pics of the exhaust as you can man, thats the way I have to do mine :) No room under the subframe.

              Go here be happy!

It may be easier to use a pass longtube and just run the drivers under the balancer. Im going to try to run the 2.5 into a collector and 3" under the motor mount and around the starter. We'll see what my exhaust guy. Says tho.

ima make an apt to have the exhaust put in and welded up next week. he says he can get a super tight radius 2.5" bend that he can do the pass side with so it'll be alot cleaner. he wasnt happy about snaking the 3" through but once he found out its not a "street" car he got all excited about doin it. for now ill have it just stop behind the tranny (i.e behind the shifter hole.) as the exhaust make me reak if im not moving. it'll be 400 bux just to snake it all thru the subframe and fix the flanges so thats all i can afford. ill buy some more pipe and a muffler farther down the road and finish it later when i can afford it. I figure atleast tying it all together and getting more then a foot and a half of pipe on either side will quite it down a bit and make it sound better down low under load.

Also going to redo the expasion tank reservior plumbing as its not working proper atm. i need to run a t from the heater return line on the wp to the ntake i think. Im try just running it from the upper line like i had it and just t'ing off to the wp from there but i guess we'll see.

it was hell trying to snake that 3" through. randy my exhaust guy got it done though. i can still get the starer out and the entire front section can come out if i need it to.

surprisingly enough the exhaust went back in pretty easy compared to how it came out. steering is also all taken care of. now onto the dif swap.
