I like your car, nice and simple, are you running 225/50/15 tires? Also what kind of suspension set-up do you have?

Schwarz/Cardinal is an awesome combo. The wheels show well with the car also.

          Tires are 205/55/15 Yokohama S-drives
I could definitely use more rubber cause of the modded m30. It breaks traction rather easily even with a 2.93 LSD.
But the tires are perfect fit for the wheels and I like that they protect the lips very well. I would get 8 inch wide wheels if I went to 225 tires.

Spring are Vogtland with 225 front, 360 rear spring rates. Shocks are Bilstien sport. I really like this setup. I also have e30m3 offset control arm bushings.

          Thanks for the comments r3vvers.

            Well fuck

I lost my iS lip today driving on a highway in a torrential down-poring intense storm. I didin't even scrape it or anything, it just flew off shortly after hitting a pothole. Could have something to do with only using 3 of the clips because of the slightly bent valence but when I put it on it seemed to be on there good.
It's probably mangeled on the side of the road somewhere now.

It really pisses me off to no end.:curse: It was brand new in perfect condition and I just painted it myself not too long ago which was the first time i've painted a car part and it came out great.
I just bought a splitter for it too! good thing I didin't put it on.

I'm now deciding if I should just get a new valence. I already tried to pull it out as much as possible but it's never going to be perfect enough to use all the clips.

Valances are easy to change. Get all new clips too.

Yeah but painting it will be the hard or expensive part.
You should do it for me since your so good at it:)

I wouldn't rock a damn volvo lip ever.
It sucks but $100 is nothing compared to most other things on an e30.
It's a small price to pay for changing your car from looking like a typical young hipster craptastic e30 to a nice and classy e30.
I'm not going to be one of those guys that drills holes in their valence and zip ties any long piece of plastic on to make it look like crap.

trying owning an iX, 320iS or M3, everything on an e30 is cheap until you get to the rarer models...

proper maintenence and paint with tires and wheels in the proper fitment do that, I'm still trying to understand the logic here, since a lip-less e30 is about as "craptastic" as you can get.

My volvo lip on my 318is was held on by double-stick tape, and after running it over a few times after hitting man-hole covers, it still looks great and it's still mounted to an e30 (not mine anymore.)

These things get way too much hate, it's way too funny sometimes :|

So you agree with me that $100 is not a lot for a part on an e30 then?

I'd actually rather have a lipless e30 than a volvo lip e30. The point was that all else equal, iS lip vs volvo lip is the difference between nice and trashy. A volvo lip can make even the cleanest of e30's look trashy.

I think they get just the right amount of hate that they deserve.

depends if it's mechanical or cosmetic, if the former, yes.

we can agree to disagree, but you can't say that it can be at all equal - they're all very different things.

                            - Volvo lips are cheap, good looking and durable
                            - iS lips are expensive, good looking and brittle as all fuck.
                            - no lip is cheap, ugly, and brittle

I'm sorry, but that's just not the case.

We can keep this up all day and all night, but at the end of the day you'll still be lip-less, heartbroken, and at minimum $70 less rich.
