Seen the thread title and thought someone got a GN. But this is awesome too! Are you going to leave the straight 8 or go something different?

      Not what I expected. Gorgeous.

Does not need IS lip, but a "Respect Your Elders" decal would be OK with me.

After all this crazy weather and distractions from things like work, I finally got the Buick home today.

She's a runner and a driver, but has some issues that have to be dealt with before I can really put her on the road. I'm pretty sure that most of the issues are just due to tuning issues and the fact that this car has sat so long. A distributor rebuild is number 1 on the list since pretty much every time you increase throttle, the car starts coughing and sometimes backfiring up through the carb. Seems the advance isn't advancing. The carb was recently rebuilt by a reputable shop, so I'm pretty sure that's not a huge factor, but some jetting and choke adjustments may be in order. After that is tires, brakes, and just a good thorough tune.

Here she is after a wet journey to her new home with her new stable-mate...

(PS: now you can really get an idea of the scale of this big ol' piece of American Iron)

I gotta show this to my dad. I grew up in his classic buicks including a '48 roadmaster convertible sweep-sphere 1 of approx 300 made. Awesome car, enjoy her.

More of these pictures. Who would have thought that a BMW and Buick would look this good side-by-side.

                        What ever happened to this?
If you were arrested for being a good mechanic, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

What a beauty. I clicked on the thread expecting a poopy modern buick. This is so cool.
