That is my car. Thanks guys for all the nice comments. I may make a build thread later but I've been so busy with the swap and work/school, I just haven't had the time. I'm totally going to be at the E30 Picnic this June. If you're there I won't mind answering your questions.Last edited by Andrew325is; 02-05-2012, 09:12 PM.Comment

Heavy compared to what? It's not much heavier than the M20 and my car and my friend's car with a S50US weighs the same on a scale. Some people are doing the S62 swap now and that wieghs like 100 pounds more than the S54, so that is not an ideal engine for the E30 in my opinion. Neither is the S85 V10. You could do the S65 from the E90 M3. It weighs less than the S54, but given the higher cost, more complex swap, and lower efficiency, I don't believe it's ideal either.
It's around 40lbs more than the m50/s50us/s52us engines.
See my engine weights thread if you want all the details:

anyone that is complaining about the 40lbs more the s54 weighs over the m50/s50 is just jealous.

That car is bad as fuck, there was an M-Tech I car in PBMW a few months back with an S54 swap, looked BONE STOCK on the outside with the exception of 17" Alpina wheels.
Dude, go find somewhere else to troll. I happen to enjoy my M50 swap quite a bit, as do many others. So pipe down when the grown-ups are talking.Comment
