Poor iX. The car was looking alright before the great "idea". But I know where you're coming from. I wanted to see what the flat black would look like on my e30 for a long time now. Now thanks to you I have a better picture of it, and I can see it looking good.

I already planned my execution out. You see, I too will be ordering my John Deer Blitz Black paint too! Here is the plan:
      MIX
      -8 parts paint
      -1 part thinner
      -1 part hardner

      PART #'s
      Blitz Black TY6416
      Primer TY6457
      Reducer PT158

check out this thread for more info...

ive seen your car up close before. sure it needs a little help, but i wouldnt have painted it flat black like that. also if i was you and going to paint my car like you did i wouldnt have bothered to tape off the key holes on the doors. ill keep and eye out for you next time im over where you live/park your car.

I need to see it too. I still think we need to get the boone e30's together some time for a photoshoot.

It can look good if done right, but that's just way too obvious it was a 20 min rattle can job.

Unless if I can find a prime 87 325iS for my euro project.

Ehh, not that bad. Car is dying for some contrast tho.

I flat black'd my Mk1 VW Jetta Coupe a few years ago. Definitely not OG by any means, but before SCC came along and taught every douchebag civic owner that they'll look super cool when they paint their blue hatchback with 99cent home depot spraycans.

I used rustoleum flat black($20/gallon/hardware store), which I sprayed in my driveway with a compressor and cheap gun. Cost me like 30 bucks total, as my family had a compressor, I borrowed the gun, and a few friends help sand the car down to 320 with a pair of palm sanders.

Right after I painted it - came out pretty nice. I recommend this method for a decent finish on the cheap. I will most likely go through a similar process for my Bronzit E30, but it won't be going flat black. It will, however, take the heat off you for a sec when I do post pictures. :D
                          . . .

I think I have seen you driving around~ your cars paint looks a lot better than mine

But yes, the spray cans are just an experiment, and now myself and most other people know that spraycans+bmw is not something that looks too pleasing. I will now cloud your minds with more pictures of john deer blitz black, and try and convince somebody in my area to let me borrow a compressor and spray gun next spring.

and the boone bmws should take a drive/photoshoot together. This friday. After I put my non-warped rotors on
