More progress on my m10 turbp. Shes Alive!!!

Idles great. Need to bleed the brakes so I couldnt take it out.

Only problem was that oil was spewing out of the turbo. Realized I still had the valve cover breather hooked up to the intake mani. Retarded. So I put a breather on it last night and plugged the throttle body.

Still need to make a downpipe. Because I ended up using a Borg Warner turbo I have to get a special flange made. So I'm waiting for that to get done.

I think the setup looks good~ the engine just needs a good degreasing.

if you look on the firewall behind the intake manifold it looks like there is blue fmu there, but I could be wrong.

I did the 12:1 FMU, 24 lb injectors, and a walbro 255 fuel pump. Megasquirt is definetly in the future but it seems to be running good now.

How do FMU's work? How do they supply a 12:1 ratio no matter what car its on? Or is it not entirely accurate?

So far from accurate, thats the problem. Plus they always make the motor run rich due to the extra fuel pressure in the lower boost range. Cartech makes an adjustable FMU but its still vague and double the price. THe FMU is just a starting place to help me learn the ins and outs of the turbo system. Definetly not a final solution for turbo charging.

so why didn't you get the 10:1 fmu?

10:1 would have worked great for the 0-6 boost range but the last thing you want is to not have enough fuel at 10 psi. Always better to run richer than leaner.
