My "new" E30 M3

pin striping was optional from dealership to dealership but was and is a oem 'upgrade'. Unless it was european delivery, I don't think any M3s came from the factory with pinstriping, but always added if desired by the dealership. I have seen and had several e30s with and without it and you can see part numbers here: http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E3...ps_universell/

My buddy's has the more common motorsport colored striping on his DS M3, mine has none, and I have never seen the style that you have. Regardless, I'd ditch it if it won't harm the paint to remove.

Interesting! Thanks for the tip! Looks like it may have been a dealership option then. But I would agree, I'm not a huge fan of it but preserving the paint would be a priority for me. I'll have a closer look at it when I get the chance.

My former E36 in Montreal Blue had painted on dual pinstripe in grey and maroon. I had it removed by wetsanding and it came out fine.

Yours appears to be pinstripe tape, which is easily removed with a heat gun on low and some patience.

I kinda like the pinstripe, but only because it's clean on the m3 unlike on my vert...

Just a few updates. Had the E30 M3 tinted a while back but never got the chance to post pictures.

I used 3M FX Premium tint 15 for the sides/rear and 25 for the front windshield. :)

Hahah, yeah, there aren't any rules here that prohibit us from putting tint on the front windshield of ours cars. In fact, a lot of people do it here. Makes driving at night pretty challenging. Then again, I hardly ever drive the M3 at night.
