Apart from that I did my rear subframe two weekends ago:

Condor Mount Bushings, IX diff, IE toe/camber adjusters and the whole get up has 53,000 miles on it.

    Exhaust removed

    E-Brake lines out

Removing the drive shaft flange from the diff flange was a bit of a challenge for me.. Soon learning how to collapse the drive shaft I got that biotch.

    [IMG]SAM_0211 by eberlcoezack, on Flickr[/IMG}

Pencil in brake lines, check! E-Brake Lines, check! ABS sensor, Check! Pad sensor, Check!(doesn't work tho)

Now dropping the whole subframe was a bitch.. I didn't use any liquid wrench or any other treatment to loosen the sucker out of the car the night before. I resorted to lifting and smashing down the trailing arms over and over and finally ended up standing and bouncing on the hubs to get the sucker to come out, in the process I did this.

I had broken the old driver side subframe mount bushing sleeve off in the car because it was siezed in there.

With a trip to Home Depot and $5 later, we made a removing tool. 5/8" bolt, a torch, and a long piece of all thread. Heated up the aluminum sleeve and smashed the bolt in there while turning and got about 3 or 4 threads in. Then from inside the car I took a hammer and the all thread and dropped it through the top, and started hammering, and boom!

Seeing as this is me and my dads largest car related project we have ever done in our non-pneumatic, small garage, this sight was a good feeling as well as slightly scary.

Dat ass in a messy garage

Out with the old, in with the newer.

After this point it was getting late and I scurried to get the car done so not much more documentation happened. But there was a bad feeling when I put on the new shoes and the tires rubbed. After frantic thinking I referred to my dads IX for explanation and found out why. IX's come with the 15" basketweaves with an offset of et41 and the bottlecaps that come on standard 325i's like mine are et33. So what ended up happening here is a 16x8 wheel should have fit in a 325i rear end but this is and IX rear end so they poke out more.

To combat this I put spacers in the rear springs, and rolled my fenders some and what do ya know, it worked... Sorta. After my little off-road excursion I came to find out that my whole left rear quarter is bent in so the driver side still rubs some which is very irritating.

    The difference:
Drivers, notice the difference in poke under the fender

Passenger, not nearly as much poke under the fender

And this is what it is doing to my brand new tires:hitler:

So my plan as of now is to try and attempt to swap the hubs and replace the bearings, since they make a bunch of noise, from my old subframe and hope the I hubs bring in the wheels so the drivers side doesn't rub! but in the mean while it's driveable.

Kitten Writing as I take a break from this post and do laundry and take quick pictures:curse:
    (```````````````````````````````````````````UURRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR)

Anywho, I also bought some cheap front sport seats from a convertible. I don't know if I'm going to put any effort into these or just leave them as is and use them until they're not usable. The drivers back tilts to the left which is awfully irritating and the bottom cushion is ripped but they work for me!

Installed my dads Nardi wheel from his 2002 along with the seats. Needs some polishin'

And lastly, some parts waiting for paint

    God Calypso is beautiful:p

FEBI Control Arms and Delrin offset bushings from Ireland Engineering, I really do enjoy their stuff.

Alright lastly, here's some quick shots of her! Plenty of stuff coming!

Lastly when I was finishing the rear subframe I wasn't in the mood to deal with the muffler so I had it hung by welding wire and it's mount. So I took it to a shop and for 80 bucks I had a guy cut off the muffler and weld on pipes straight back, love the sound and the look.

I'll get videos of sound sooner than later!

    Thanks for looking!!

How did you end up collapsing the drive shaft?

The nut right after the center carrier bearing turns counter-clockwise looking at the diff. It tightens on splines.

The rest of my paint is a 20' job, don't worry. And mines about to be down for serious work.

Also, tomorrow I'm picking up the Harbor Freight tool that works for pressing out and in the rear wheel bearings if you need to borrow it in the future.

Definitely keeping that in mind, thanks!

I need to make another build thread. You're the only one who comments on this shit lol.

Coming back to it, there has been some changes to the vehicle.

Documenting hasn't been first priority because school was coming up and I needed to get all my ducks in order so maybe I'll just picture dump what I have!

But listing what I have done in the mean time is:

                              Megan Racing Coilovers
                              Rolled Fenders
                              Mpowerful's Chip and Tune
                              19# Injectors
                              Red 46 Sump Armor
                              Ireland Engineering's FEBI Control Arms
                              Ireland Engineering's Offset CAB
                              Euro Grills
                              Euro Plate
                              Some stickers
                              Roundels on the ESM caps

So here goes in somewhat order..

From last update, I have the valence and lip on:
                              Tear Down

                              Messy o_O

                              In place

                              Almost there

Squat, Done. Also in between pictures if you hadn't noticed I installed Euro grills from ST1G, and his free Euro Plate will appear later in pictures.
                              \

This is where the new tear down begins, I'm pulling all of my suspension to replace with Megan Racing Coilovers that I had bought from dubsport87 for a fantastic price!

                              Old shit out

And off to petebee for his burgundy E30

Since I have the struts out and what not to weld in the coilovers (which I didn't get any documentation of) I might as well get the control arms over with.

                              Getting feisty with the lollipops

Now I don't have any pictures of installing the bushings, or actually, I don't have any installing pictures for that fact. But oh well. And for whoever buys the IE delrin CAB the arrow points the opposite way of conventional bushings, so arrow away from notch.

This day was rolling fender day for me and a friend so we could both knock it out while I had rented a roller.

                              Fakes, fake wheels everywhere;D

And then me being a smart guy, decides to start my injectors and it starts to freaking rain:hitler:

Getting the chip in, it's almost an eerie feeling the first time you pull this thing apart. I'm tickling with her brain:-(

For those who doubt or skeptical on doing this it's a fantastic improvement for M20's! The motor feels awake, although I have a massive exhaust leak right outside the headers, I can feel the powaahhh. Just kidding it's still an M20, but better.

Me and the same friend proceeded the next day to take pictures. I hadn't messed with the height to where I exactly want it so the ride height is still a little funky aesthetically, but still looks good. What do you guys think of his wagon?

I polished up the Nardi for a great excuse to take more pictures the next day, lol:giggle:

                              Best State

School was creeping closer so I put my red46 plate on and that was a hassle in itself, but no pictures yet again

But I did get distracted with my side project, the roof rack;)
Yes this one hanging here, the three bars welded together by a chump, me, and painted by my friend.

I had finally bought wood to put on top and more carriage bolts and after much careful measuring, cutting, and drilling I got it to here.

Then Proceeded to stain the wood with a cherry stain, turned out better then I thought!

I didn't have much time to take detailed pictures of the rack complete on the car right after it was done because the next day I spent the day raising the car to come over the mountains to school, but here's one with the car raised.

                              Bleh

And there we are, ready to go off to college! I have lived in this house my whole life, caught my passion for cars here, and built this car here. It goes without saying it was a hard move but I had too. I didn't take any crazy car picture stops because the drive ended up lasting 6 hours instead of 4 and we needed to get to Grand Junction.

But I'm proud of her for making it the farthest I have ever taken her from home!!!

And the last thing I have done before the cars progress is at idle, drop her back down:letitout:
I got some pretty weird looks doing this in the dorm parking lot lol

Also I pulled one of the adjusters out of the rear, per side, so this is the lowest I've had the rear end.

They're like hot wheels to cars these days...

Then me and the GF took a drive up the Colorado National Monument. By far the best driving road I have ever been on. You can drive so free spirited without getting too crazy and the view is something out of a brochure.

And that should be that for the updates on Rosy. She's just sitting around being lazy in the parking lot lol. But for comparing sake, here's a comparison of beginning to now:

                              And Photos I didn't post:

As always thanks for taking a look! Questions, comments, concerns about my mental health, all of that is welcome!

Calypso on the desert background. Love it. I remember driving by this formation when I was in Colorado.

                                Nice work OP!
