Greetings R3V fans. This past week I acquired an '88 325is 5 speed in lachsillber (salmon silver) over black leather from the 2nd owner. The 2nd owner had the car since '93! Its been carefully maintained by one BMW specialty garage, Alexandria Bavarian Service. I have been looking for a nice E30 for reasonable money for a really long time. My good friend David (ethirtydavid on the boards) turned me back onto them a little more than a year ago. The first E30 I drove was about eight years ago when my friend acquired one as somewhat of a graduation present. He wailed on that thing & ended up putting it in a couple ditches.
Some other cool (weird) cars I've owned along the way are a '89 Peugeot 405 Mi16, '77 Lancia Beta an '84 Le Car & a 350z track edition.
My E30 has 208k & is stock sans a set of bilsteins & a short shift kit the PO put in. The leather is in beautiful shape. I have since pulled off both of the sheepskin (e30 specific) seat covers and conditioned the leather. The car has some minimal rust like all the E30's I've looked at out on the east coast. Way down the road I plan to add some goodies from Ireland Engineering, euro grilles, plastic bumpers with euro trim and shadowline the window trim. For the time being, I'll just enjoy driving this time machine around as-is :D
I apologize in advance for the iPhone shots. I have a charger coming in the mail for my DSLR
The 1st E30 I drove about 8 years ago.
My other BMW, an E39 540i 6 speed with the true sports package
My '88 E30
