and how it looked when it was all done. i am a fan. love to here some opinions.

you can't do drop hats on an ix, nor would you want to. you'd literally be riding on the gland nuts.

Why? That's not the point of an ix.

Also, your tires look like they have next to no sidewall.

I am aware that it is not the best for a few things on the car to do drop hats but im ignoring that. and i have spoke with a guy on eurowerks a few times who has an ix with drop hats and he said it worked fine... hmmm i will ask him for the details

It's not a matter of "not a good idea". it will not fit. period.

drop hats work on RWD cars because the bearing is below the plane of the strut tower. there's like 2" of room for the drop hats to fit into above the bottom of the bearings.

on the ix, the bearing is inverted, and the upper spring perch is pretty much flush with the bottom of the strut tower. there's maybe 1/4" of room from the top of the spring perch to the bottom of the bearing plate.

                      Will. Not. Work.

ignore me at your own peril - whoever you spoke to was either mistaken or full of it.

also, that still ignores my other comment. even if you could lower it say, another inch, with drop hats, you would quite *literally* ride the car on the gland nuts. Not the bump stops, thel gland nuts. there would be zero travel. It would be easier to weld the strut tubes directly to the bearings. With only H&R sports and bilsteins, you already don't have enough travel.

if you want to stance your car you bought the wrong one.
