Man, that is about as close to perfection as I can possibly imagine. Thank you for sharing the pics of the car!!!

My girl said she saw someone taking pics the other day. Too funny!

Yeah my car generally stays inside the garage, but I'm in the midst of a big home remodel, so my garage is a temporary storage unit. I keep her under a cover though. Yeah I'm also very glad I did not sell it. I ended up selling my black E30 instead, which was a great car, but nowhere near the prestige and rarity of the m-tech 1.

Thanks all for the kind comments.

BTW, pix of the ski pass put to proper use?
Ahh I didn't take any pics of the passthrough in use. Modern skis, especially fatties, barely fit in there. But I was able to still squeeze in two sets of medium-waste skis without issue. For summer ski touring like this with two people, it's a perfect feature. No need to throw a roof rack on...just stuff them in the back and go.

When I found this car in B.C., I couldn't believe the quality of the houndstooth sport interior. That it had an intact and functional ski passthrough was a nice bonus.

            Here are some pics:

I'd love to chat about the car sometime, and pick your brain about importation. Of all the gorgeous e30s on r3v, this is my favorite one :)

Happy to talk you through it. Importation was easy being that this is a Canadian-spec car that I added the m-tech goodies to.

If you're trying to import a Euro- or Japanese-spec car that's younger than 25-years-old, it's more difficult and $$$.

And thanks! I put a lot of love into this car. Good to know she is appreciated!

Haven't made it to Mt Rainier, but one of the local BMW boards here in BC does a trip across the border and up Mt Baker every year. If Rainier is similar to Baker it must be a good cruise.

Do the ski passthroughs not usually work?

At that elevation there is snow year-round. You just might not have as much of a trip down the mountain until you hit rocks :)

                            Great picture, great car!

I have always wanted to try telemark skiing and climbing with skins. Maybe this year will be the year :)

It's an amazing cruise! I'm no stranger to Mt. Baker highway, also a very formidable drive.

The passthroughs often are missing the
Ski bag, and if they have them, they tend to have all sorts of holes and tears.

And Greg, I also hate the undersized tires. Will definitely be replacing them after some fender modification.
