Nothing too "marvelous" about a sr20det. Throw boost at any capable engine and it will make a lot of power. Shit, i am planning a turbo m10 for my e21, 1BAR 230 whp and just as much if not more torque.

Not true. The SR20 a very well engineered engine. You say any "capable" engine will make a lot of power. If by capable you mean the engine was already built with specs that would favor forced induction (such as compression ratio etc) then yeah, but in essense, that's what the SR20 is.

The SR20 can be pushed much farther than any other engine completely stock than any other engine I've seen. I drove a kouki s14 with a blacktop s14 SR20 (with the VTC).... all it had was a S-AFCII and the manual boost controller. 18psi, all stock. Show me another engine doing the same stock that did not come turbo from factory.

And again, you dont need to be a genious to figure this one out.... people are swapping SRs into everything nowadays, so there's a reason for it. Show me an m20 powered Nissan.

As for the s14 posted here.... I was never really into Zenki's.... but since I see one every day, they grew on me..... now I'm not a fan of the Kouki so much. Here's the car:

and it's true... SR's are great motors, and ppl ARE swapping them into everything under the sun. But as far as showing u a motor that does the same stock, I've got one motor that can outperform the SR in stock form (as far as power output goes, since I believe that's wat you were referring to):

this swap just seems to devour money. even though im leaving the engine stock, i still got caught up in the 'modding'... im shooting for 450-500 Whp with a GT35R. im just now realizing i'll have to upgrade my FMIC for that to happen...

Ohhhh I think I remember you from the boards now. I registered there a long ass time ago then switched accounts to !RocknE30!. I just lurk over there every now and then since I don't have a 240 and can only really contribute to the OT section :)
