I'm even a little indecisive about where to start. Suggestions are always appreciated though I'm sure I'll find my way when I've had a chance to digest everything.
JimC chip is one of the greatest mods any eta owner can do. Totally changes the engine, frees up tons of power. After that, suspension should always be one of the first uprgrades.
Nice "E".. where abouts did you find it? i got my 85' eta from some old lady in Portland with 82k...spotless and then some &%^$#*# in highschool jumped on my hood, kicked my door...oh and then someone backed into her...cherish it and keep her clean...
I like the clean look..of almost stock...put a 325es/is early spoiler on her and a mtechI rear spoiler FTW!!!!
You should get: Jim C chip, new exhaust, springs, and if you want a little more oooomph the 'I' intake mani and t/b swap...works well and did i mention better gas mileage...i have this same setup and i average 32mpg highway...
Enjoy your new car...the ETA will never let you down...enjoy!
It was from a client I've had for some time - I never even knew they had it. I'm a computer consultant who makes house calls and have been tutoring this couple off and on for a few years. One day last week we were talking about cars and they asked if I knew of anyone interested in a 1985 3-series. They showed it to me in their garage and that was that.
Euro delivery and they still got diving boards.
Now that I am aware of the differences, I totally agree. I wonder if it was possible to get Eurospec stuff on a car that was being shipped into the US anyway?
Chip it, put an "i" exhaust and intake on it, and you are good to go.
Appearance-wise, I'd keep it as is. If you want to toss it around, get some H&R Sports and Bilstiens, or maybe H&R OE Sports. Those bottlecaps are soooooooo clean.
very nice car!
lower it/ and get a set of 17" alpina kopis! and the IS front valance. and you have yourself a winner.
answer to your question- NO you coudnt get any of the euro stuff on a car headed for the U.S. It is very common for the soldiers here in germany to order U.S. model cars brand new, and drive them here for a few years, then ship them back when they go back to the states. After you recived the car though, you can do what you want to it. but most people with brand new BMWs are happy just as they are and dont do anything to them while they are here.
my old boss- years ago- had a U.S. 735 E12 or whatever those boats were called. I tried to talk him into letting me get rid of the diving boards for free for years, and he never did it, and now the car is back in the states with diving boards. He just didnt care bout em????
