good luck on making it all nice again. Yeah it CAN be done, BUT a bunch of us could use some cabby parts ;) Have you had a chance to get onto a rack yet?? Hows the interior??
My car had no frame damage. I did not disagree I said the frame issue was not determined when I first posted the pictures before it made it to the caroliner.
My car runs & drives better than ever because it now has better tires/larger rims.
This car has much more damage than mine had and I would think has frame damage. I hope I am wrong.
Kinda funny noone has asked me what I do for a living......
Nice score - was this on ebay? I think I saw this one.
All comments above aside, for $300 it's worth it. But, to fix it...well, even if you do all the work for free, as they said above, it's never going to be quite the same, and you could easily pick up a car with mechanical problems for around 1k and use the two to make one straight car.
There's a vert on CL the guy wants like $1200 for or something - doesn't run right or something. Take a peek.
Not trying to discourage you, but I have a 96 GMC full size pick up that got hit the same corner your vert did, and even with my best frame guy working for 10+ hours on it, it will never be the same. And that's a full frame TRUCK, not a unibody vert...
Good luck either way. If you need any help - pm me. I'm local and I'm neck deep in E30 shit :)
Havent started working on it yet. The interior is fair to poor. The only part of the collison repair I have to pay for is the paint.
You cant tell from that pics, and I admit the pics do look bad, but the initial impact was the corner of the bumper. the left front wheel took the worst of it. The LCA is a pretzel, and the wheel that was on there looks like a pac-man. The upper part of the unibody, where the fender bolts to, was pushed in as the fender was peeled. The inner part of the unibody where the ABS valve sits is crushed, and the radiator support is crushed, but thats no big. My main concern was the inner part of the unibody, the left lower front horn. If its tweaked it isnt by much.
If I get it all apart and decide its very much bad, I'll be honest and tell you guys. I look at it this way though, you can buy cars with broken timing belts all day everyday, but wheres the challenge in that? If it was easy, anyone could do it.
Looking for a challenge huh? Sounds a lot like Budget Beater's car...
No, from what I've gathered from Ray, he's not in the Budget Beater circle of friends ;) He seems like a good guy with some good ideas. We all scoffed at Stefan (parkerbink) when he showed us his car and said he was fixing it - look at it now! And that was with a bunch of Mexican body workers doing it for 3 pesos a day or something. Ray's gonna do it himself!
I'll try to find the car I was talking about - and I couldnt remember if I saw your car on CL or Ebay - I check both religiously ;)
