I love how everyone hates on the wheel and tire combo, but no one hates on taking a possibly CRACKED head to a machine shop? You do realize that a reputable shop will not work on a cracked head... Filling in pitting sure, but glossing over cracks is a big no no. If it's cracked you need a new head buddy... And some new tires

Are you a machinist? Ive had cracked heads repaired by a reputable shop that didn't have any issues.I love how everyone hates on the wheel and tire combo, but no one hates on taking a possibly CRACKED head to a machine shop? I am actually :) and a welder, and have taken classes in metallurgy. Also my neighbor down the street from my parents house is the specialty machinist for Strange Engineering and has cylinder head machining equipment in his garage. He was VERY particular about the heads he worked with, and that was one of the things that he never wanted to touch unless he had to. I don't specifically work on automotive stuff, but it doesn't take an automotive specific machinist to tell you that it's not a good idea to repair a cracked head. Too much bad stuff going on with the crystal structure and you cannot ensure FULL penetration. With a critical part like a cylinder head, it's in your best interest to source a new one if it is cost effective. The cost justification is just not there in your case; a usable new core is less than $300 and it's well worth it.
Still don't believe me? Apparently BMW heads specifically are not supposed to be repaired...

LOL numb nuts... read my other build im not a noob. I need the head tested to see if it is cracked then go from there, IE if its cracked get a new head if its not cracked redo this oneI love how everyone hates on the wheel and tire combo, but no one hates on taking a possibly CRACKED head to a machine shop? Fixed it, bunch of cry babies you are..
But please explain 1 thing to me.... this car right here

is running a 16x10 with a 215/40 but you happen to drool over it because its on RS's
but because i dont spend 2k on wheels and i have a tire that has 10mm smaller footprint makes my car a piece of shit/ricer/noob or whatever meaningless things you say
but okay whatever you guys say, i mean you all are master e30 techs... right?Comment

it's not that you didn't spend 2k on wheels. it's the fact that those tires you mounted should be illegal.
