I'm sure an IX is great with snow tires and a few inches of snow... but past 5" or so don't you think ground clearance would be an issue?

Just saying, I'd rather have a jeep or something for the snow.

The iX is fine in a lot more than 5". Back during the last set of real snow storms that we had around here, I used it to "plow" our alley. Would a lot of ground clearance be notionally better? Sure, but not that much unless you actually live somewhere that gets more than a foot of snow regularly.

We keep getting dustings of snow and every time they call for anything significant it just rains. Real cool Ohio.

Come to northern Ohio man, it's painful. I haven't seen dead grass all December. 'Tis the season for drift however.

I've gone through 8-10 inches with just all-season tires on. No issues with clearance or getting up hills/etc.
