    The iX is fine in a lot more than 5". Back during the last set of real snow storms that we had around here, I used it to "plow" our alley. Would a lot of ground clearance be notionally better? Sure, but not that much unless you actually live somewhere that gets more than a foot of snow regularly.

              I've gone through 8-10 inches with just all-season tires on. No issues with clearance or getting up hills/etc.
