      Good luck
This guy above is pulling an engine and autotragic out of my calypso car as we speak with my other buddy Matt. It's 1:13 AM :)

      That's dedication!

Anyways, true "barnyard" mechanics would have saw-zall'ed the exhaust at the downpipe. Ask me how I know

Update us on the running issue. Could be a ground, could be something else.

The calypso car is going to get cleaned and prepped for a 5 speed swap and new engine - most likely another M20.

We sawzalled the exhaust on the other car to get the donor engine out. :)

Nah, we're waiting til tomorrow to dick with it. It's getting chilly out and we're all exhausted. We've retired to sitting on the couch watching TV. I'm 95% sure it's the chassis ground, though... it wasn't attached properly.

It's been mostly me, Nate, and my buddy Drew. Spoon (spoon_e30) has been helping when he could.

Final update on the thread... starter connections were loose (finger tight), got them tightened up, car cranked right up. She purrs like a kitten and pulls like hell, considering I've been used to 5 cylinders for the past year. :) All that's left is to bleed the cooling system one last time and it's ready for some fun.

-Hay! Grad it pulls good... I was worried that your "been sittin' around" motor would be down on compression. Glad to hear it.

-Oh yeah and I found out tonight that pulling the fuel rail off your old manifold is a real PITA. But it came off.

I wish I had a spare vehicle to get around in so that I could do that to my car. I want to clean/degrease the entire engine bay, paint it satin black, and clean up the wiring. I want a clean engine bay damnit. There is too much bronzit in it!

                      btw, any after pics?

Looks the same, really. Not much change. I'll be refinishing the VC and intake manifold here soon though.

top 3 drunk engine swap highlights:

                          - me hacksawing the lower oil cooler line
                          - nate tightening the exhaust manifold bolts (instead of removing) with approx. 150 lb/ft torque
                          - matt putting the exhaust manifolds on backwards.

-Hay Drew. Welcome! (this is Micah)

-Don't forget: not having the power connected to the starter, and trying to run the car w/o a PVC line. Poor little DME don't know what the heck was going on... :(

-But it's all good now, yes, Matt?

haha, your highlights are common things that happen when you work on a motor swop until 6am for a couple nights in a row.

this is bokes' old car, right? the one that had the bad rocker, hence the engine swappage, i imagine.
