Inside, original premium sound speaker covers on the rear deck and the chrome rings around the instruments removed would be two things I'd do away with.

Are you going to bring it to the E30 M3 Treff in Geiselhoering this year? Largest E30 M3 meet in the world if I'm not mistaken.. definitely in Europe.

Viele Gruesse aus Muenchen... mach weiter so
    Thanks!

We obviously share a very similar taste... I already painted the speaker covers flat black to make them more subtle, I've been thinking about some premium speaker covers, but honestly even those stick out like a sore thumb to me. I wish there was a way to mount the covers flush with the rear deck (like on the E46 for example).

I would've gotten rid of the chrome rings already, but they are glued on there pretty good and I'm worried about ruining the cluster by taking them out.

As for the exterior parts, the evo wing and front splitter are two things I'm currently on the lookout for.

I also have another set of wheels coming in...:-D I'll be keeping both sets to switch things up when I feel like it.

as for the M3 meet, I've never heard of it to be honest... but it sounds impressive. I'm usually not a big car meet guy, the few meets I've been to in Germany always seem to attract a "certain crowd" (if you know what I mean...;)). But I'll do some research on it and maybe I'll change my mind.

For anyone that wants to know how things will go from here, I made a quick list of the upcoming changes:

    - H&R Monotube coilovers (already ordered)
    - EVO front splitter (if I can get my hands on one)
    - EVO rear wing (again if I can get a hold of one)
    - Suede EVO Shift Knob (to go with my steering wheel)
    - Complete brake overhaul with rebuilt calipers and all new hardware
    - A set off all red taillights
    - 2nd set of wheels (I'll keep this a surprise until they are all done)
    - Eisenmann full exhaust including cats (already have it in the basement)

Other than that I can't think of anything I would want to add, but I'm always open to suggestions...

      God. What a story.

Looking forward to this build, as jealous as I am.

Sounds like we do share similar tastes... I avoid car meets for that exact same reason.. unless I know that they're a mature, relaxed, older (simply reinforcing the main principle of mature) enthusiast crowd.

Here are two quick pics from the last show. It's recognized by BMW AG and organized by 3 older techs from Karly Jungmayer BMW who all own E30 M3's.. Karl Jungmayer allows the meet to be held on the property of his BMW sales/service site. A number of older M, and tuner cars such as Hartge, Alpina, Schnitzer, owners have made it a point to show up in recent years.. Last year two of the BMW engineers who were a part of the E30 M3's development showed up in their E30 M3's.. how cool is that lol. I can guarantee you'll be happy you experienced it.

I'll stop there and refer to PM if needed in order to keep your thread about your particular beautiful M3 : ) BTW I'll add to your to-do list lol:

        - Carbon Airbox (if I can get my hands on one) : )

          - I had the nürburgring spec of those Coilovers and they were great!
-EVO II or III bits for the front/rear?
-can you still buy that knob from the dealer?

I'd second that car meet, I never went while I was in Germany, always wish I did though. I went to the 2009 dtm revival and it was incredible.

Here's a man who knows what he's talking about . Both meets are incredible, like something you almost never expect to see in one place at one time. Crazy that they're always within a week or two of each other too. Can't wait to attend both again this year.

Yes, I almost went to the 2010 Gieselhoering, but ended up in Afghanistan instead.:hitler:

wow... the dtm revival looks incredible, I would love to be a part of it!

As for the EVO parts... I want the small lip under the front bumper. I don't want the huge chin spoiler / bumper add on, I can't stand those... they completely ruin the lines of the car IMO.

As for the rear wing, I just want the wing with the adjustable flap on it.

A CF Air Box sounds cool, but I want to enjoy the engine stock for now, it's more fun to make HP changes after you got used to the stock power.

This weekend, I took care of some more things things that had been bothering me...

1st order of business was the the air box that looked horrible.

                    before:

                    after:

                    sooo much better...:D

then my ocd took over once again in the interior. My middle console had scratches / holes / glue residue on it. With everything else looking so perfect by now, those flaws were bothering the hell out of me...:???:. I guess I'm really spoiled by the condition of my 323's interior, the M3 has to look just as good. Sooo, I made an order at the stealership for some new parts, and picked up a few pristine pieces locally.

I used the opportunity to also get rid of the cassette holder in favor of the storage bin...

                    old:

                    switching over the buttons:

                    new:

it's all in the details... BMW flashlight, new lighter...

Everything is lined up for the brake overhaul / coilover installation next week...:D

So I had a big H&R Package delivered to my office today... Coilovers!!!

I was excited to get these on, but looking at the contents of the Package really ruined my day... they sent me coilovers for an E36!

Looks like the suspension has to wait another couple of days...

I mite be wrong, but I don't think any suspension company has e30m3 strut tube cores on hand for coilover setup. Every company I have spoken to wanted me to send in my m3 struts to be modified.

E30 m3 h&r coilovers come with front strut housings. Nice job on the engine plenum. Is that paint or powdercoat?

I'm buying used with the struts already installed... I'm trying to contact the seller to see if he simply sent the wrong box out to me or if he confused e30 / e36 and sent the wrong parts altogether. No luck in getting a hold of him so far...

If the coilovers I bought are actually intended for the e36 I'm back to where I started suspension wise.

It's high temp engine paint with the "MPOWER" letters re-polished. We'll see how it goes, if the paint doesn't hold up this season I'll send the valve cover / plenum off to be powder coated.
