the wheels and rear wing are being painted as we speak. the wing had some slight cracks on the top and I wanted it to be perfect.

so this weekend I wanted to tackle something that's been bothering me for a while and I thought would be an easy fix... the interior c pillar covers. they are not attached correctly and the outer vinyl is separating from the edges

turns out my plan to remove them isn't as easy as i anticipated. I unclipped the edge towards the rear window and tried to pull them off the c pillar... but I can't seem to remove them completely, they are stuck on the side window seal... I would consider myself mechanically inclined, but these things are driving me insane...

HOW DO THESE THINGS COME OFF / RE-ATTACH??!!!

any help would be greatly appreciated...

Ok I have sme experience with those.

Since these cars are old, most likely the vinyl is old and brittle, and it's "unglued" from the base, you will like to air heat it a bit to make it soft and flexable, put some nice glue in the back and be done. If the base came out, you just need to figure out how to put it back/glue it against the pillar.

thank you for the advice... but I'm still not quite understanding this.

I want to take out the covers to glue the vinyl covering. I have undone the clips towards the rear window. but towards the side windows the cover is still stuck on... i think it's attached to the side window seal. how do i take out the entire piece? do you have to remove the window seal?

I almost forgot that I had some almost pristine Euro Ellipsoids laying around. I originally bought these for the 323, but ultimately decided to keep the classic sealed beam look.

I think they'll work really well with the M3 :-D...

(sorry for the shitty IPhone pics)

            first look:

all bolted up and torqued to spec:

Nice find! Where did you get the info sheet for the transmission? Have one in my 323 and would add a nice little touch.

Once again, I ask myself why things like this never happen to me. Then again, even if I was in your situation I couldn't afford the car. Nice find man, hope it treats you well and you can reciprocate.
