    Baton Rouge dyno meet

Well, after much ado, we finally pulled off the BR meet and it was a blast. Good turnout and good times.

Friday night we made Thunder Racing where Jonathan works, and did some baseline runs on my car. Then we installed the BMP AFPR and did some more runs. I was very pleased with the results.

The surprising thing was that I was running fine up until about 5500rpms where it began to lean out a bit, but after we adjusted the AFPR we were able to get the a/f mix set and picked up a few horsepower and some torque in the process. Yeah, I guess you could call me LUCKY wheeter, it WAS running fine and that without any tuning. However, I am glad we got it done, and it's even better now.

We ate some hotwings at Hooters, did some driving Friday night and then some more today. Good stuff. Branden lost a caliper bolt and ended the afternoon drive, but it was a great trip.

Big thanks to Jonathan and all the guys at Thunder Racing in Baton Rouge for being so helpful and going out of their way to make everything right, I couldn't be happier!

    Uh, this is me:

Blue line/baseline run, Red line/last run. The torque spiked but was running about 151lb/ft.:

Nice torque, you are easily over 200 ftlbs' at the crank. Whats with the hp level though?

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.

Nooo, I WISH the torque was 171, but if you look at the graph, it spiked there, it was actually only about 151, which for a basically stock motor, is not bad. The HP is respectable I think for an M20 with the few add-on mods I have.

woooohoooo for running lean for your top 2k rpm's! how lucky are you

and also wooohoo for spending $ ___ and ending up with a car that pulls as hard as some stock have.

Top 1000 rpms. And I haven't spent much on what I've done. Something else to note, the last two runs were after several before, and no doubt the motor was hot even with the fans on it and a few minutes cool down time. The numbers are not that important to me at this point, but it runs like a champ, and that's what matters. I run with the M3s in the group easily and in the twisties as well, and I doubt many stock e30s could make that claim.
