I didn't do a run before the AFM/injector swap b/c there was no access at that time. I did do a baseline run before installing the AFPR however and it is reflected in the graph. Pointless? Hardly. The goal was to adjust/correct the a/f ratio which admittedly was not off by much, but it IS tuned now, so the trip was definitely worthwhile.

The meaningless i referred to was doing a dyno run purely to find out only what power it makes (AFR is totally different). I was not saying you runs were pointless but in more general terms that most dyno runs are, as rolling dynos are not good tools for absolute numbers but are designed for relative numbers (before and after type scenarios), as you obviously got something out of it by tuning with the AFPR compared to w/o the AFPR. I was hoping to see another before and after comparison to see how much of a restriction the AFM is, but no matter.

      Cheers

I CAN refer you to davelenght.net; Dave DID do before and after dynos with the m20vs m30 AFMs. His final numbers, though a bit less than mine, are very similar so I would assume that the before numbers would also have to be close. Check it out: http://www.davelength.net/

alpha/n is where most of the hp came from. But, I did put down 192rwhp on the same dyno with just the cams, exhaust, and flywheel

Uncorrected maybe, but those numbers are just too much if corrected figures. The guy doing the dyno for me asked me if I wanted the uncorrected (read higher) numbers or TRUE numbers. I laughed. He said, "No, seriously, the ricer crowd always wants the inflated uncorrected numbers so they can brag to their friends". w/e. As a matter of fact, maybe Jonathan can chime in here, with a cam and some headwork on his '90 M3, he was putting about 165hp to the rear wheel IIRC.

I believe he said with his latest headwork/cams/etc. he made 184HP at the rear wheels. I know I was impressed, and Jonathan doesn't have Alpha-N.

Yeah, now that I think about it, he had an EVO cam and was putting down 184 rwhp. Either way, those numbers look to be inflated.

I don't know about whether or not the dyno was inflated. I went to this place for all my dyno and tune work so far, they're about an hour from where I live:

The goal of AMS is to provide the highest quality, best performing products available. By utilizing research and development and rigorous testing programs, AMS will never compromise the quality or performance of our products.

They had a lot of different cars saved on their computer from being dyno tested, everything seemed to be in check...You've probably read about one of their EVO's

                  I'd go back

Hey, I think I owe you an apology. I got you confused with the guy claiming 221rwhp back in an earlier post. After reading what you have and knowing where Jonathan is, your's is certainly believable. I apologize for the mix-up. :-?

Yeah, mine did 184rwhp with a GIAC chip, DSR 272 regrind intake/stock exhaust cams and mild headwork. It did 160rwhp with just the chip.

It's an "is" lip. I wouldn't mind having a reiger lip, but don't want to spend the money. I may add a splitter at some point though.
