Very nice car. It's a sleeper for sure. Your mechanic did great work.

You shouldn't be complaining about 4,000 RPM at 94mph though, my car is at 4,000 RPM at 85mph!

That car is really clean... Looks super nice... I accually like the diving boards on that car... makes it look more classic.

I too would be interested in how the install of the e36 cupholders goes.
Thats the onlything I hate about e30s... no cup holders...

What position are you placing the eninge in?

what gearbox are you using? and diff ratio?
dont under esitmate the usefulness of the autobox. It great when people look inside your car and start bagging it just becasue its an auto. then BAM!!!! pwnd your arse.

You might want to find a e23 diff 2.91:1LSD will work very well.
Just dont get caught out with the side loader diff. These will not fit, but the other type(same as the esire) will bolt into the esire sub frame nicely.
You can get away with the lower ratio diff because the engine produces soooo much torque.
I know with mine, the auto box torque convertor locks out at 80kph. Which is very interesting becuse there is so much stored energy in that thing. My speed increase's and fuel used goes down. Without adjusting the throttle position.

What is the fun in beating someone in an automatic car?

I'm just waiting for my one(autobox) to blow up. So i can put a manual, sooner. Im just lazy aswell. When you jump out of your truck (18speed road ranger box, that you have to double clutch all the time) takes it's toll. For me anyway, its good being able to jump into an auto and zoom off, not worrying about changing gear.

I get off from vteccers, trying to beat me. I do admit that a manual is better. Esp. in the twisties. As you can keep the car balanced more and therefore are able to take advantage of a improved racing line and wieght transfer and fuel usage adantages(least important). While, most importantly are able to help steer the car using the throttle.

Left foot braking while staying on the gas going around the corner. keeps the car more balanced with an auto. Esp corners under 8okph(50mph) where the torque convertor comes back in, and therefore drops your revs down to idle.

To answer your queastion: Yes, i do. the least effort i have to put in to beat someone the more satisfaction it is for me.
