The M5 US bumpers suck. I have bought a set of euro bumpers off eBay, and am now trying to find a front lower valance. I have had every suspension rubber bushing front and rear replaced with its stock equivalent. The car handles great now, otherwise only stock equivalents will be used in this restoration. The e36 console needed to be modified to fit over the hump in the e30. I did this by taking a coat hanger and molding it around the hump. I used the curve in the hanger made by the hump as a template for me to dremel out the back of the e36 console. It bolted up fine up front without any modification. I will take a few pictures of the center console tomorrow...

The S50 would been another $2500 due to the additional cost of the motor tranny. I paid $1400 for my motor and tranny from a recycler. My friend has an S52 (with OBD1 conv., and lost of other bits) conversion, and his car is no faster on the bottom end. He pulls by me a bit on the top end, but also paid more than double the cost for his motor before he had Pete McHenry work it. The coolant tank is VW spec. It all depends on what you want to accomplish. I like doing things that are not normal, and the S50 swap is too common...
Nobody else caught that? the m30 is a straight 6 unless I misunderstood you...

What I meant was the M30 has similar characteristics as a V8 motor where the low end torque is concerned...

its a shame that E36 console doesn't fit normal bottles though...lol it takes like thin pieces of shit. what were they thinking when they made that console..it shoulda been a little wider.

Oh, and I also dremeled the bottom of one of those stupid cup holders out, so now the thing will fit a Venti Starbucks drink no problem!

BMW admits that their cupholders suck. With the exception of huge 7 series cars, no BMW interior is designed with the intent of having useful cup holders. They put at least something in so that Americans will still buy the cars, and then only bitch a little after.

Either way, this topic is not what i needed to read. No one is biting on my e28 533 that has for sale for a while and im very very tempted to do this swap, m30b32 smaller but rev happy for a big six
