Fake CF paint.
To combine the worst of both worlds there is now fake CF paint. Black with a second "texture" coat sprayed through a screen and then clear coat. ? What costs more - a real CF hood or a painted one? The hot tip just like the real race cars. A CF hood painted body color with absolutely no prep work so that the CF texture shows through - paint is heavy! I love ricers. They're always good for a laugh until you get blown off by a street drag Acura. You like the OK-UH-WA?

i'm wondering if there would there be interest in replacement CF roof panels, custom minimalist dashes, possibly doors for coupes (probably just skins), and other random lightweight parts....... or are CF parts too pricey of product for such an old car? ....i'm pursuing a sculpture BFA and am thinking about some projects for summerbreak that would keep me entertained while being productive... ....if the interest is there to justify the production costs of materials to make the molds and whatnot, i might make a series of limited runs of a few custom parts, not usual CF parts like hoods and boots that are readily available, there really isn't that much out there as far as CF e30 partsComment

Most desired E30 CF parts are available on the market already. How the hell would you make a CF roof for an E30 anyways?Comment

the factory roof is a single plate welded at teh four corners to the top of the corner pillars - basically a big sheet that you'd have to do "some" bodywork to install (cutting the old external roof out for the CF roof plate to replace)
but that's just an off the wall example... i'm really open to and rational/functional suggestions
i don't think seatbelt holders would be worth my R&D time/efforts for any real-life performance benefitComment

you should buy some of that CF tape/vinyl and cover your seatbelt holder and whatever else you think would lookOriginally posted by Ray SmoodiverC/f seat belt holders. Yea that'd be tizziiiaggghhhhtt~!tizziiiaggghhhhtt~!Comment

99% of the e30 market works at Blockbuster, or Jack in the Box or some shit. They buy used brake pads for heaven's sake!!!!
Do you really think they will layout the coin for CF parts?Current Cars2014 M235i2009 R56 Cooper S1998 M31997 M3Comment

.......riiiiight. you yourself have seen some of the rides on this board alone. and i'm not talking CF parts that are mass produced by some big company and sold for high profits. ...i'm just looking for enough interest and some practical ideas for some CF that no one has done before, a chance to get unique CF e30 parts for extremely cheap...my labor costs would be compensated by breaking even for the material costs....think more along the lines of an e30-enthusiast-summer-internship....things i can put in my ID/sculptural portfolio
who knows where things can lead?
SORRY FOR JACKING THIS THREAD, it just got me thinkingComment
