    New guy here.

    Morning All,

    I want to take a minute to let you know I'm new to the Board but as a new owner I hope to be around a bit. I've been active in only one other Board, Grassroots Motorsports. They host an event where you have to build/buy/bring a car and compete in Drag racing, Auto-X and Concourse and spend no more than $2006 and show all receipts.

    Anywho..... I just bought a 1986 BMW 325. It's white with minimal rust, a 6cyl and 5spd. and 130k miles. That's all I know about it. I paid $400. The ECU is an 027, which is for a 325e, but someone noted the intake manifold is from an "i". My plans were to gut it, slam it, slick it and treat it like a sorority girl with low self esteem, but except for the front seats, it's got a nice interior. So far I've replaced the pads and rotors.

    Here's a coupla pics and I'm way open to suggestions.

    Thanx, Dan

              I don't know what that means, I'm not that BMW literate yet.

                eta = "e"
                eg. 325e

                as opposed to "i" for the 325i/is models.

                you probably know the difference between "i" and "e" motors, but if not heres a link:
                BMW Engine FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Contributed by: Jared Robinson Horsepower quotes may not always reflect US Rating, If there are two HP numbers, lower HP number generally denotes US rating M10 Straight 4 cylinder SOHC 8V. 1966-1987. 83kg 180lbs Used in 1502, 1600-2, E21 316/318i/320-4, E30 316, 2002tii and 2002 turbo 1.5 (75bhp), 1.6 (85bhp), 1.8 … Continue reading Engine FAQ →

                yours would be the M20, but depending on the what 325 you have it could be the 2.5i or the 2.7e.
